Re-Varnish Those Hardwood Floors
Do you ever notice that your once beautiful hardwood floors are lacking the luster and shine that they once held? Maybe it’s even time to consider purchasing an area rug for the higher traffic areas of your home. An area rug is a great way to keep your hardwood floors looking nicer longer.
Spring Clean That Grill
Did you know that you can clean your grill with an onion? That’s right…an ONION! If your grill is charcoal or propane, heat that thing up nice and hot. Grab an onion, cut it in half and affix it to a fork and get to scrubbing! The natural antibacterial qualities and juices will remove the baked and caked on grim with ease. Crazy, right? Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
Sock It To ‘Em
Does your dryer eat just one sock? Need a new use for that remaining sock instead of throwing it away? Cotton socks make great dust mitts! Place that lone ranger sock on your hand and run it all over your appliances and electronics. Cotton has great dust trapping abilities, so put all those partner-napped victims to good use!
Clean That Microwave With No Elbow Grease
We all know that one of the worst parts of spring cleaning is the microwave. All the left over spaghetti, nuked ravioli, and baked-on tomato soup can sure make that microwave a mess. When cleaning the microwave, making sure you get the corners has proven to be a feat and a half with regular cleaning products. We have found a solution to your problem that works, and it smells amazing too! Grab a lemon, roll it to work the juice out, cut in half, and squeeze it in to one cup of water while dropping the peels in as well. Place that cup or bowl in the microwave and give it three minutes on high. After it is finished, do not remove; Let it set for 5 minutes. The steam will lift that crud right up, so wipe away with a damp rang and move to the next task!
Pet Hair Problems
Does your dog lounge on the couch? Do you find pet hair all over your beloved love seat? Often, we have the urge to reach for that sticky roller, but that never really gets all the hair, does it? What if we told you that the solution costs less than a dollar? All you need is a set of rubber dish-washing gloves. Get them damp and rub them all over the furniture. The pet hair will clump up and will be much easier to remove! You also might want to consider getting Fido a dog bed. We have some really doggy-friendly designs here at eLuxury that you should check out. That way, next year’s spring cleaning will be a little easier. This is one of our favorite Top Ten Spring Cleaning tips.

1.) The all-natural way is to rub a teaspoon of lemon oil on them twice a month, which will cause the water to bead up and roll off.
2.) The second option is getting some Rain-X and rubbing those doors down with that. Yes, that’s the same product that you apply to your windshield that combats the rain. It works great inside as well!
Tame The Toilet
We all know how nasty that thing can get! We have a quick life hack to help combat that in which you use an orange drink straight from your childhood. Drop a teaspoon of Tang in your toilet! Disinfect That Mattress
Vodka. Not only is it one of the most mixable of all alcoholic beverages, it also can help you clean your mattress! The alcohol levels in vodka make an amazing disinfectant. Get yourself a spray bottle and spray down your mattress. Let your mattress dry completely before making the bed.
The Dreaded Fridge Cleaning
Cleaning the fridge is one of those tasks that almost no one enjoys. You can clean your ice box much faster with two ingredients you may have around the kitchen: Ground kosher salt and soda water. The salt and soda water combined are strong enough to remove the grime and salt is a natural deodorizer as well. Remove all the shelves and clean them with hot soapy water. This is a great way to clean that is good for the environment and doesn’t leave your fridge smelling like chemicals.
The Forgotten Dishwasher
Is your dish washer filled with lime deposits and iron stains? I bet you never thought of putting Kool-Aid in the dish washer, huh?
