Why Thread Count Makes A Difference
We have have had many customers over the years ask the difference in thread counts and/or be confused of what thread count even means. Don’t worry at all if you are also confused about why you should buy one thread count over the other; We are here to help you! Before diving into the benefits of low and high thread counts, let’s first discuss what thread count means.
What does Thread Count actually Mean?
Thread count is defined as the amount of threads per square inch vertically and horizontally. That’s all it means, simple as that. Despite the higher price tag on higher thread count sheets, it does not mean anything about the quality. You are simply paying more for the amount of thread that is used to make the sheet. Simultaneously, a lower thread count can be just as great of a quality sheet set as any high thread count set.
What Thread Count Should I buy?
Now that we’ve discussed what thread count means in regards to sheets, let’s talk about the benefits of high thread count sheets vs low thread count sheets. We know that the higher the thread count, the more threads there are, but how do you know which thread count sheets you should buy?
The Benefits of Low Thread Count Sheets
The first question we ask customers after they ask us what thread count of sheets they should purchase is, “What is the climate like where you live, and how hot do you sleep?” In our experience, the majority of people sleep hot and want to sleep cooler. That is when we typically will ask the customer what they think of our low thread count sheets. If you are from a warmer climate, you may want a more breathable sheet set. The Benefits Of Higher Thread Count Sheets
Many people think that the benefit of the high thread count sheets are in regards to quality alone. This is not the case at all. If a customer is from a colder climate or seems to always be freezing, that is when you need to check out what kinds of high thread count sheets are out there. Here are some of the benefits to high thread count sheets:
